Job Title: Electrical Service Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Electrical Service Technician to join our team. This role offers a dynamic work environment with a focus on installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of electrical systems in commercial settings. The position requires availability for a monthly rotation of 24-hour service work, and provides a service van and gas card for convenience.
Responsibilities
+ Install new electrical components, wiring, and panels while maintaining existing systems.
+ Perform preventative maintenance checks to prevent future electrical issues.
+ Diagnose electrical problems using tools and testing equipment to locate faults such as short circuits and faulty wiring, making necessary repairs.
+ Ensure all work complies with local, state, and federal electrical codes and regulations.
+ Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including parts used and time spent on each job.
+ Communicate effectively with clients about the nature of problems, estimated repair times, and costs involved.
+ Prioritize electrical safety throughout all work, ensuring the use of appropriate safety gear and adherence to safety procedures.
+ Read and interpret electrical blueprints and schematics to understand system designs and wiring layouts.
+ Collaborate with other technicians, electricians, and engineers on larger projects.
+ Provide training and guidance to junior technicians and apprentices.
+ Utilize and store all tools and equipment properly, ensuring their maintenance.
+ Provide regular updates to management on work status, including estimated timelines and progress.
Essential Skills
+ Journeyman license
+ Experience with electrical troubleshooting, wiring, service, and installation
+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
+ Experience with switchgear and panels
+ Proficiency in commercial construction and field service
+ Skilled in using hand tools for electrical service
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in installation and maintenance of electrical systems
+ Strong problem-solving skills for troubleshooting and repair
+ Knowledge of compliance with electrical codes and regulations
+ Effective communication skills for customer interactions
+ Ability to work in a team and provide training to junior staff
+ Proficient in record keeping and progress reporting
Work Environment
The role involves service calls to commercial buildings and requires work both inside and outside. The position operates Monday through Friday from 7 AM to 4 PM, with occasional overtime as part of a monthly 24-hour service rotation.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $37.00/hr.
