Maintenance Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our 3rd shift team in Bloomington, IN. The role involves ensuring the seamless operation of our production machinery through electrical and mechanical repairs. You will work on large extrusion machines and blown film production equipment to minimize downtime and scrap. The position also involves regular inspections and upgrades of production lines, as well as facilities projects, such as installing new guard rails.
Responsibilities
+ Perform preventative maintenance as scheduled and directed by the Team Leader.
+ Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical equipment within the manufacturing facility.
+ Complete open work orders promptly as directed by the Team Leader.
+ Record daily work in the Plant Maintenance Log.
+ Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the Maintenance shop.
+ Assemble, disassemble, and convert/upgrade production lines or support equipment as required for repairs, upgrades, and installations.
+ Regularly inspect production lines and support equipment, scheduling necessary preventive maintenance routines.
+ Weld metal parts and equipment pieces as needed.
+ Work overtime as required and rotate on-call schedule with maintenance staff.
+ Order parts as needed for service.
Essential Skills
+ 2-4 years of industrial maintenance experience within manufacturing.
+ Proficiency in electrical and mechanical maintenance, particularly with drives, motors, and belts.
+ Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
+ Electrical troubleshooting (480v), motors, drives.
+ Mechanical troubleshooting, including changing and unlocking bearings, leveling machinery.

Work Environment
The work environment is a medium-sized plant in the food industry, ensuring cleanliness and comfort. The facility operates with air conditioning in summer, although it is not heated in winter. The maintenance team is small, requiring candidates to work independently and collaboratively. The shift follows a 2,2,3 rotating schedule from 7:00pm-7:00am, with minimal overtime unless involved in special projects.
Pay Structure:
Everyone starts out at $31.77 coming in. Within 2-4 weeks you will pass the electrical test and pay rate will move to $33.77. Finally, for the first 60-90 days you will work on days you will then transition to nights and you pay will change $35.77.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $64147.20 - $72467.20/yr.
