    Job Title: Laser Operator

    Job Description

    The Laser Operator is responsible for setting up, adjusting, programming, and operating CO2 gas laser devices. This role involves programming all machine axes, coordinating or operating any support equipment associated with the primary machine, and diagnosing and making necessary adjustments using various measuring methods. The Laser Operator is tasked with determining which machine is to be utilized, how parts are to be run, and confirming part numbers and quantities to be produced. Additionally, they must ensure engineering changes correspond with work orders, layouts, and prints. They are expected to follow machine pre-operation checking procedures, perform preventative maintenance, clean and maintain machine optics, inspect parts produced per company protocol, follow daily production schedules, use correct cutting parameters, operate additional support equipment, and move production materials as needed. Travel may be required for training, and miscellaneous duties may be performed as assigned.

    Responsibilities

    + Program all machine axes.

    + Coordinate or operate support equipment associated with the primary machine.

    + Diagnose and adjust needed changes using layout, check gage, assembly fixture, or other measuring methods.

    + Determine machine utilization, part run processes, and confirm part numbers and quantities.

    + Ensure engineering change numbers correspond with work orders, layouts, and prints.

    + Follow machine pre-operation checking procedures.

    + Perform all required preventative maintenance.

    + Clean and maintain machine optics.

    + Inspect parts produced according to company protocol.

    + Follow daily production schedules.

    + Ensure correct cutting parameters are used.

    + Operate additional support equipment.

    + Move production materials as needed.

    + Travel may be required for training.

    + Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.

    Essential Skills

    + Ability to set-up and edit machines.

    + Experience with laser cutting and sheet metal operations.

    + Prior experience with sheet metal machine operations.

    + Experience with robotic systems and press brakes.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + High School Diploma or equivalent.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Worth, Texas.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $27.00/hr.
