    Job Title: Fiber Technician

    Job Description

    The Fiber Technician will be responsible for assisting with cable installation and maintenance, including pulling and terminating copper and fiber cables. The role involves working closely with Tech II to ensure efficient execution of tasks, utilizing hand and power tools, and interpreting blueprints for structured cabling projects.

    Responsibilities

    + Assist Tech II in cable installation and maintenance.

    + Pull cables through pathways and terminate copper cables (Cat 5, Cat 6).

    + Test and install structured cabling systems.

    + Perform fiber splicing and terminate Cat6 cables.

    + Build out closets and install cable trays, ladder racks, and j-hooks.

    + Rack assembly and handle materials efficiently.

    + Utilize hand and power tools for installation tasks.

    + Climb ladders and work comfortably at heights.

    + Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.

    Essential Skills

    + Strong ability to pull and terminate copper cables.

    + Experience in fiber splicing and cable pulling.

    + Proficiency with hand and power tools.

    + Ability to interpret blueprints and project documents.

    + Knowledge of universal communications color codes.

    + OSHA and Lift Certification.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + 1-2 years of experience in telecom/cable installation preferred.

    + Capability to lift up to 75 lbs.

    + Valid driver's license.

    Work Environment

     

    Work at various commercial facilities, including veterinary clinics, commercial businesses, and county buildings. Our work schedule is 5:00am - 5:00pm, Monday through Saturday. Adhere to our dress code by wearing steel toe boots and PPE on-site, with safety vests, gloves, and safety glasses provided.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Goodyear, Arizona.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
