Responsibilities
Responsible for the daily operations of the Respiratory Therapy Care Program. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the areas of Clinical Services, Quality Assurance, Administration, Human Resources, Operations, Finance, Sales and Marketing, and Customer Relations. Certain functions of the position will include the performance of tasks which will coordinate the timely and appropriate delivery of services to the residents of Comprehensive Care Facilities; the coordination of the internal and external billing process and payroll; assurance of education related to care and operations, and, the enhancement of our status as a premier provider of quality respiratory care services.
1. Assumes responsibility for the efficient and profitable management of rehabilitation services in assigned site(s) of service.
2. Assumes responsibility for insuring departmental compliance with all regulatory and practice act requirements
3. Supervises respiratory personnel and consultants providing service within facility
4. Assumes responsibility for performance management and merit evaluation of respiratory staff
5. Assumes responsibility for hiring therapy staff (in conjunction with the area leadership)
6. Assumes responsibility for daily staffing and utilization
7. Administers financial controls of revenue and expenses
8. Assumes responsibility for facility reports on a weekly and monthly basis
9. Assists area leadership in annual budget preparation
10. Assumes responsibility for meeting monthly and annual budget goals
11. Supports the delivery of the highest standard of respiratory services through appropriate utilization of resources, the promotion of clinical programs, and staff development in collaboration with licensed therapists, the area leadership team
12. Promotes all Genesis Health Care products and services whenever possible
13. Assists area leadership team in identifying and securing new contracts
14. Develops and maintains relationship with facility and area management team and staff as a representative of GRS
15. Ensures that the clinical management of the respiratory department, including oversight related to case management, quality improvement, care planning, clinical utilization, and patient identification is overseen.
16. Directs and participates in new Facility implementation and assures respiratory standards are in place.
17. Delivers treatment and care a necessary to meet patient care needs
18. Participates in Sales activities as requested. These activities include but are not limited to Facility Presentations, Trade Shows, and other Industry related events.
19. Maintain 24/7 on-call coverage to meet all patient care needs
20. Performs other related duties as required
Qualifications
The District Manager must have a degree in a respiratory services discipline or related field, along with a minimum of two years supervisory experience, preferably in a skilled nursing facility setting. Must have a minimum credential of Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician, Registry Eligible preferred. Current State Licensure required.
1. Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
2. Must possess the ability to make independent decisions and problem solve as appropriate.
3. Must have a thorough knowledge of Medicare and third party billing.
4. Must have a through knowledge of all state practice acts.
5. Must possess the ability to positively interact with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
6. Must possess the ability to effectively manage/motivate staff.
Posted Salary Range
USD $38.00 - USD $42.00 /Hr.
