Job Description

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and self-driven Research Scientist to join our Pathology Research Core Group. The successful candidate will have a doctorate in pathology or another life sciences field, along with extensive experience in tissue pathology techniques. This role involves organizing and leading multiple simultaneous pathology research projects and collaborating across disciplines with other research groups.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Conduct and oversee tissue pathology techniques, including immunohistochemistry, multiplex immunofluorescence, and digital pathology.
+ Lead and manage multiple pathology research projects simultaneously.
+ Collaborate with other research groups to integrate pathology findings into broader research initiatives.
+ Perform molecular pathology and computational pathology image analysis using software such as Visiopharm, Halo, Imaris, QuPath, or ImageJ.
+ Utilize computer coding skills (e.g., R, Python, Matlab) to enhance data analysis and interpretation.
+ Present research findings at internal and external meetings.
+ Mentor and guide junior colleagues in the research group.
Basic Qualifications:
+ PhD or comparable research doctorate in pathology or another life sciences field and 0+ years of experience with tissue pathology, molecular pathology and computational pathology techniques OR
+ MS Degree in pathology or another life sciences field and 4+ years of experience with tissue pathology, molecular pathology and computational pathology techniques OR
+ BS Degree in pathology or another life sciences field and 6+ years of experience with tissue pathology, molecular pathology and computational pathology techniques
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Experience in molecular pathology and computational pathology image analysis.
+ Proficiency with software such as Visiopharm, Halo, Imaris, QuPath, or ImageJ.
+ Extensive experience with tissue pathology techniques, including immunohistochemistry, multiplex immunofluorescence, and digital pathology.
+ Demonstrable meticulous attention to detail and exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
+ Highly self-driven and motivated.
+ Some computer coding experience (e.g., R, Python, Matlab).
+ Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
+ Strong organizational and time-management skills.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
+ Passion for advancing cancer research and therapy.
+ Courage to tackle challenging research questions.
+ Teamwork and collaboration across disciplines.
+ Integrity in all research activities.
The salary range for this position is: $133,195.00 - $172,370.00. Kite considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans*.
