General Summary:

Qualcomm Technologies is seeking a tech-savvy, self-motivated public communications professional with expertise in legal, policy/public affairs, and crisis management to support the Policy and Legal Communications team. The Qualcomm Technology Licensing (QTL) and Innovation Communications Sr Associate will lead and coordinate comprehensive communications initiatives to support strategic business goals.

This role focuses on enhancing Qualcomm's presence at leading industry events, managing reactive media inquiries, and ensuring consistent and accurate messaging. The Sr Associate will also develop and lead a program to position Qualcomm’s General Counsel as a champion of innovation and strong IP rights, enhancing their visibility through strategic speakerships and media interviews. Additionally, the role involves creating and integrating strategic narratives that highlight Qualcomm's leadership in technology and innovation.

Job Responsibilities:

+ Lead and coordinate comprehensive communications initiatives to support strategic business goals for QTL and Qualcomm’s leadership in innovation.

+ Provide creative support for foundational marketing materials, including website updates, basic foundational slideware/messaging, and FAQs.

+ Ensure QTL’s presence at leading industry events through strategic speakerships, representing the company's views and leadership in licensing and innovation.

+ Handle reactive media inquiries and other communications requests, such as press release development and approval, ensuring consistent and accurate messaging.

+ Support discrete issues that require targeted marketing efforts, addressing niche audiences on an ad-hoc basis.

+ Develop a program to position and enhance visibility of Qualcomm’s General Counsel as a champion of innovation and strong IP rights.

+ Collaborate with corporate speakerships team to identify and execute high-level, non-issue-based speakerships for key executives, targeting mainstream audiences and amplifying these moments with media interviews where appropriate.

+ Support the development of LinkedIn innovation content, ensuring it aligns with Qualcomm's strategic messaging and enhances executive visibility.

+ Mine, develop, and execute strategic narratives that showcase Qualcomm as an innovator, integrating these stories into broader company communications to highlight the company's leadership in technology.

+ Experience in driving impactful public relations and building and managing digital campaigns, including influencer programs

+ Effective communication with tech media and analysts

+ Ability to develop and maintain trusting relationships in a corporate environment

This is an office based position in San Diego, CA and will be expected to adhere to the company's onsite work policy.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of Public Relations or related work experience.

OR

Associate's degree and 4+ years of Public Relations or related work experience.

*Completed advanced degrees in a relevant field may be substituted for up to two years (Master’s = one year, Doctorate = two years) of work experience.

Preferred Qua** **lifications:

+ 4+ years of overall marketing or communications experience

+ 3+ years of experience working across policy & legal teams to drive business objectives

+ Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Political Science, Business or Engineering

+ Proven storytelling skills in both earned and paid media

+ Experience in communications efforts within semiconductor, communications, or technology space including direct interaction with media and analysts to pitch and shape stories

+ Proven storytelling skills in both earned and paid media

+ Demonstrated experience working across marketing disciplines and with business leaders

Pay range** **and Other Compensation & Benefits** **:

$44.23 - $66.35

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm.
