SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Under the direction of the team physician, and in accordance with the Pennsylvania Athletic Training Practice Act, the Athletic Trainer is responsible for providing athletic training services to student-athletes in the secondary school setting. This includes providing preventative measures appropriately, standard immediate care procedures used in emergency situations, clinical evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation/reconditioning of injuries.
This Athletic Trainer position will assist the Hershey School District High School and Middle School. No clinical responsibilities are expected in this position as this is a school-based assignment.
The selected Athletic Trainer will provide coverage for all practices and games for all in-season sports, as well as some summer camps/workouts. The Athletic Trainer will rehab all athletes for pre/post practice and games, and overview all game responsibilities. Administrative and other duties will be assigned as needed.
The schedule for this position will mostly be structured from 12p - 8:30p, and will vary on what sports are occurring for the day.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
+ Bachelor’s Degree
+ Licensed in the state of employment as an Athletic Trainer
+ Current BOC certification
+ Current CPR certification
+ PIAA Weight Assessor Certification (can be obtained after employment)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):
+ Minimum two (2) years experience preferred, however entry-level graduates with BOC certification are encouraged to apply.
