Position Summary
Marion County Circuit Court is accepting resumes for a full-time Juvenile Magistrate. This position will begin on or around June 23, 2025.
Position Responsibilities
The juvenile magistrate work will entail presiding over the Title IV-D establishment docket and civil court cases. This juvenile magistrate will be responsible for many of the duties of the child support enforcement docket. The juvenile magistrate will conduct court sessions 8-9 dockets per week. In-person attendance on scheduled days is essential, with the exception of pre-planned vacation days. The magistrate will also be required to fulfill any other responsibilities as requested by the presiding judge.
Qualifications
Applicants must be admitted to practice law in the State of Indiana with five years of practice and be in good standing with the Indiana Supreme Court.
Marion County residency is required within six months from the date of hire.
Strong computer skills are essential for this position, as well as excellent time management and communication skills. Attention to detail is required.
The magistrate will be required to abide by the Indiana Code of Judicial Conduct. All applicants should have a civil background and strong writing and organizational skills. Salary: The salary is set by the State and is non-negotiable. State benefits are available for this position.
