    THE ROLE

    This is a hands-on position performing general maintenance duties to keep the facility in good operating condition.

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

     

    + Perform general building maintenance to include electrical work, HVAC, plumbing and repair.

    + Maintain shop equipment and workstation with attention to safety and housekeeping.

    + Perform preventative maintenance on various pieces of mechanical equipment.

    + Follow all safety rules and regulations.

    + Report any unsafe or hazardous conditions to supervisor immediately.

    + Perform other duties as assigned by Director of Facilities.

    Qualifications

    Education and/or Experience

     

    + (Preferred) Licensed or Certified in one or more of the following fields: HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Carpentry, Small engine or Engine Repair, Internet, Phone

    + (Required) High School Diploma or GED

    + Two or more years of experience in general maintenance or related industries

    + Able to read and understand English.

     

    Skills and Abilities

     

    + Ability to work with minimum supervision or independently, as well as with others.

    + Ability to read and understand prints/diagrams and follow both written and verbal directions as required.

    + Ability to use computers for emailing, work orders, and documentation of work completed.

    + Ability to recognize and use simple hand-held, manual and power tools needed for performance of general maintenance duties.

    + Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time on hard-surface floor.

    + Ability to stoop, bend, twist, and climb.

    + Ability to lift 50 pounds.

    + Ability to operate a forklift or aerial platform lift is preferred but not required.

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    This position has irregular work hours that include nights, weekends, and holidays as required to cover events and complete tasks in a timely manner. Position is full-time, hourly, with overtime as necessary. Additionally:

     

    + Some exposure to adverse conditions.

    + May be exposed to weather conditions

    + May require being in and out of doors several times a day

    + May be limited exposure to heat and cold, dust, pollen, fumes, and noise
