Overall Job Summary
The Social Media Specialist is responsible for bringing TSC to life across paid and organic social platforms to increase brand awareness, drive store and website traffic, and promote customer engagement, while also monitoring performance and adapting strategies based on data. This position will assist in managing the social content calendar, partner with internal creative team on developing content across social platforms, manage reporting on organic/paid social, and support paid media execution. This position will guide the voice of Tractor Supply’s social media channels in a way that is timely, authentic, personable and in line with the company’s legendary customer service standards.
This role will support the development and execution of social media campaigns across the entire product and brand portfolio. The ideal candidate brings prior experience in planning and executing social media campaigns, along with strong analytical skills and effective communication abilities, leveraging consumer insights, data, and platform performance to inform recommendations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)
+ Build paid social media ad campaigns in partnership with the media agency including writing ad copy, coordinating ad creative, and reporting on performance.
+ Develop organic social content strategy for Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, and Tik Tok - manage monthly content calendar planning, consult on social first creative development, schedule posts in the Sprinklr platform, and report against KPIs.
+ Concept, execute and build out social media contests and promotions.
+ Share platform-specific social reporting and insights with internal creative and content teams in order to drive creative and messaging improvements based on TSC’s social audience.
+ Manage TSC’s social media moderation, monitor TSC social media channels, and partner with the Customer Solutions Center on customer responses.
+ Monitor relevant social media channels daily for brand mentions, trends, content opportunities, or conflicts.
+ Engage with social content to drive brand affinity
+ Provide insights and reporting for social crisis situations in accordance with crisis guidelines.
+ Act as a co-administrator for the Sprinklr social platform
+ Evaluate key social media analytics including engagement, message volume, response time, and others to ensure brand is aligned with industry benchmarks and meeting KPIs
+ Stay up to date on trends and emerging social tools including CapCut templates, Canva Pro templates, Wyng, etc and recommend ways to leverage tools to enhance social creative
Required Qualifications
Experience: 3 years of experience working in social media for a large brand or agency. Strong understanding of social media landscape including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, Tik Tok, YouTube, and emerging platforms.
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or a related field. Any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.
Preferred knowledge, skills or abilities
• Strong understanding of social performance metrics and KPIs, with experience in analytics tools like Facebook Analytics and Google Analytics.
• Ability to communicate strategic thinking and align activities with business goals.
• Proven track record of managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent quantitative and qualitative reporting and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
• In-depth knowledge of marketing, advertising, promotional, and digital content principles.
• Innovative, solutions-focused with a desire to be collaborative across departments.
• Creative writer with exceptional storytelling skills, capable of developing TSC’s online brand identity and voice.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience with marketing platforms such as Sprinklr, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, CapCut, Wyng, Zeta, and Skai is a plus.
• Retail and/or agency experience is a plus.
