We are searching for the best talent for an Engineer to be in Lexington, MA or Malvern, PA.
Purpose:
The Experienced Engineer will be a strong individual contributor in the development of new and innovative technologies, raw materials, processes, solutions, and products. This position functions primarily in the proof-of-concept phase and will be part of a high caliber multi-functional team developing and driving innovative approaches that solve problems. This person will perform technical work, provide engineering, design and project management services, and develops concepts, designs and details under moderate supervision. Carries out research of innovative solutions for potential application in engineering support, project delivery and/or technical field. Interaction with external suppliers through teleconference and occasional travel is expected.
The Experienced Engineer will work closely within the team and with cross-functional departments such as clinical discovery, quality, and regulatory as well as DPDS departments (e.g. analytical development, drug product development, active pharmaceutical ingredient, etc.) to provide potential solutions and support existing innovation activities. This person will be responsible for testing solutions and evaluating their value; determine if the solutions provide material savings, labor savings, and/or value to our patients, care givers or healthcare providers. Support the transition of these solutions into existing systems as needed.
Impact
+ Functions as engineering SME in single or multiple engineering topic(s).
+ Plan and organize specific areas of projects; defining scope, range, and problem resolution methods / techniques.
+ Contributes to budget estimates, timelines and capital requests for projects; contributes to business case development.
+ Apply intensive and diversified knowledge of technical principles and practice.
+ Compiles and analyzes data, identifies causes, draws conclusions, generates reports.
+ Responsible for maintaining compliance, consistency of practices and work quality.
+ Knowledge of regulatory compliance for GMP work and compliance needs for programs.
Degree of Supervision
+ Works with some autonomy for longer term activities independently interpreting data, identifying project needs, and proposing solutions.
+ Will receive direction from management, but is typically accountable for execution which directly impacts the goals and objectives of the specific program.
Innovation
+ Work independently with moderate supervision to innovate new methodologies and / or technologies for product, package or process development.
+ Identifies unmet team needs and presents them to team leaders/supervisors.
Nature of Communication
+ Disseminates information with some guidance and exchanges information through written and oral communications.
+ Majority of interaction with internal and external colleagues on routine and or specific milestones of a project.

+ Contributes to key elements of strategic development for a project within R&D; sets objectives over longer time frames.
+ Directly participates in the delivery of broader engineering and research efforts.
+ Corrects issues that may not be immediately evident, using existing or new procedures/processes.
+ Seeks to contribute to improving business/work processes to identify and enable the organization to cultivate new technical insights.
+ Identifies novel scenarios and nascent engineering/technical opportunities in a specific engineering area.
Operations Management
+ Directs the proper use and implementation for innovative technology to establish long-termplans.
+ Ensures that all necessary procedures are followed to secure new equipment and technology and compliance with local and country safety and quality guidelines and regulations.
+ Challenges standard procedures to provide recommendations for improvements.
Information Management and Communication
+ Attends in-house seminars and participates in engineering meetings as appropriate to support team goals.
+ May present data and recommendations to outside consultants, at in-house research forums and at outside professional meetings.
+ Contributes to information database development and suggests improvements to information systems.
+ Draft protocols and technical reports and contribute to information management, process/product design, process flow diagrams, etc.
Project Management
May lead small investigatory projects with cross-matrixed team members to evaluate new or existing technologies and/or processes. Ensure deliverables are met within scope, time and budget.
+ Collects and collates results and inferences and reports to project team and senior colleagues.
+ Collaborates effectively with fellow project members following priorities, checkpoints and timelines in support of objectives.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Technical Skills
+ Working knowledge of design control
+ Packaging technology and materials
+ Injection molding of thermoplastic materials
+ Extrusion and co-extrusion of thermoplastic materials
+ Computer skills (MS Office)
+ Additional Computer Skills Preferred, 3D CAD, FEA, CFD
+ Advanced knowledge of statistics
+ Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
+ Author protocols and reports
+ Deliver presentations that are clear, organized, focused and intellectually sound.

Education
+ B.S. degree in an appropriate Engineering discipline with 2-4 years’ experience
+ MS/MBA with 0-2 Years’ Experience
+ Pharmaceutical or Medical Device industry experience preferred.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :
$89,000-$143,750
Additional Description for Pay Transparency:
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis. Employees and/or eligible dependents may be eligible to participate in the following Company sponsored employee benefit programs: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, business accident insurance, and group legal insurance.
