Choice Hotels, one of the world’s largest lodging franchisors, has an exciting new opportunity as our SDET 2 in the Guest & Loyalty test engineering organization. This team works closely with business and software engineers to ensure that all software releases are free from defects, performing according to business requirements, and correctly interacting with all connected applications. As a key member of our QA organization, you will create robust test plans and automate their execution to ensure accurate, repeatable, testing to help deliver the highest quality software possible.

Your Responsibilities

o Create and automate test cases to fulfill acceptance criteria.

o Maintain, debug, and enhance existing test automation suites.

o Handle issue management items including test reporting, root cause analysis, and defect creation.

o Support the codebase in the form of pull requests, code reviews, and framework contributions.

Your Experience, Skills & Competencies

+ Bachelor's degree in related field required or 3 years of experience in an equivalent position

+ Proficient in:

+ Java (or other object-oriented programming language)

+ Git

+ SQL

+ Demonstrates key competencies to include

+ Strong written and verbal communication skills.

+ Strong time management skills

+ The ability to work independently and within a team.

+ Self-directed learning and the desire to increase your technical abilities and understanding.

+ Nice to have

+ Experience working with rest APIs

+ Experience working in a distributed cloud environment

+ Experience using software orchestration tools such as Jenkins and Harness

Your Team

This is an individual contributor role that will report to the Manager, Test Engineering. You will have one peer teammate and collaborate with cross functional departments on a regular basis.

Your Work Location

As our SDET 2, you will be based in our beautiful, state-of-the-art technology hub in Scottsdale, AZ. In October 2021, Choice opened a newly constructed world class technology center.
