IT Systems Analyst - DHS OHSS (Onsite)
BluePath Labs is a fast growing research and management consulting company focused on the challenging research problems for both government and private sector clients. This position requires supporting a key government client with expert analytical chemistry assistance to aid in its mission to stem the flow of opioids into the United States.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) hosts the independent Office of Homeland Security Statistics (OHSS). OHSS leads the collection and dissemination of immigration-related and other statistical data related to DHS operation domains to Congress and the public. OHSS was formerly the Office of Immigration Statistics and is being renamed and transformed into an organization with broader scope and increased responsibility.
Responsibilities:
The IT Systems Analyst will modernize the OHSS report production line including:
+ Report management support
+ Industry best practice research,
+ Information collection,
+ Report automation strategies assistance,
+ Potential technology adoption
+ Solution adaptability
+ Problem identification
+ Documentation
+ Quality assurance
+ Data management
+ Database management
+ SOP development
Minimum Requirements:
+ U.S. Citizenship
+ Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
+ Minimum 1 year of experience as an IT Systems Analyst or similar role, with demonstrated expertise in analyzing, designing, and implementing technology solutions.
+ Proficiency in programming languages including Python and Java.
+ Experience developing and maintaining web interfaces utilizing modern frameworks and technologies (e.g. React, Angular, or similar).
+ Strong knowledge and hands-on experience working with PostgreSQL databases, including database modeling, SQL querying, performance tuning, and data migration.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Master's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
+ Experience gathering and documenting system requirements, creating system specifications, and performing impact analyses.
+ Familiarity with report automation methodologies and software development lifecycle (SDLC).
+ Excellent communication and analytical problem-solving skills, with the ability to liaise effectively between business stakeholders and technical teams.
