SummaryUnder the direction of the Principal, the Extended Learning Program (ELP) Teacher is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating instructional programming for students identified as gifted and talented. This position focuses on meeting the academic and social-emotional needs of ELP students through enriching, rigorous, and engaging learning experiences.Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
+ Designs and delivers instruction aligned to a scope and sequence that is appropriate, challenging, and engaging for gifted and talented students.
+ Collaborates with teachers, counselors, and administrators to support the academic and social-emotional growth of ELP students.
+ Builds positive relationships with students and families, fostering a safe and inclusive environment for learning and development.
+ Participates in the identification and review process for ELP student placement in accordance with district policies and procedures.
+ Collects and analyzes feedback from students, parents, and staff to evaluate program effectiveness and inform ongoing improvement.
+ Maintains accurate documentation and data related to student progress and program outcomes.
+ Stays current with research and best practices in gifted education.
Qualifications:
+ Valid Iowa teaching license and Talented and Gifted Endorsement (PK-12) required.
+ Strong instructional skills with experience differentiating curriculum for high-ability learners.
+ Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with staff, students, and families.
The successful candidate will exhibit:
+ Ability to organize and coordinate building wide program.
+ Ability to interpret data.
+ Knowledge of curriculum and instruction.
+ Knowledge of strategies and materials for the education of gifted and talented students. Initiative and the insight to anticipate problem situations and respond accordingly.
+ Ability to create a sense of belonging and welcoming environment for all students and staff.
+ Consistent and punctual attendance.
