    To support the academic mission and strategic plan of the University and College of Law by providing students with a diverse set of co-curricular personal growth and professional development experiences.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Employment duties will include, but not be limited to:

    + Act as leader of the Division of Student Affairs in the absence of the Assistant Dean of Student Affairs.

    + Oversee and supervise all Student Organization events and programs as well as provide feedback by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing event data.

    + Manage the Student Affairs Coordinator, Student Affairs Administrative Assistant, and Temporary Lifeguard.

    + Coordinate the Bar prep food and wellness program with the Academic Success and Bar Prep department during the summer between Commencement and the Bar exam.

    + Oversee and manage student activities and leadership on campus, including supervision of the student affairs coordinator and administrative support assistant.

    + Assist the Assistant Dean of Student Affairs with the primary purposes of the Division of Student Affairs, including student organizations, leadership development activities, new student orientation, special events and programming, risk management policies and procedures, cultural events , Title IX and Student C ode of Professionalism and C onduct processes.

    + Oversee the Ambassador program and act as liaison between the Ambassadors and various departments on campus.

    + Coordinate co-curricular opportunities and programming for evening students at the Tampa Law Center commensurate with those offered to daytime students on the Gulfport Campus.

    + Manage the event registration process, and act as Student Affairs’ liaison with other departments involved in the implementation of events.

    + Implement a leadership development program with the Student Leadership Development Committee.

    + Coordinate and monitor all campus publicity for events and activities and manage the approval process for and monitoring campus postings.

    + Compile and distribute daily Announcements including organizational meetings and events and works with Communications office to update the Student Information page.

    + Help provide logistical support to all other Division of Student Affairs events and programs including, but not limited to, Orientation, SBA Barrister’s Ball, Inns of Court, monthly Leadership Luncheons, Ambassador events, etc.

    + Hire, train, and manage student employees including student assistants, gym assistants, lifeguards, and intramural referees.

    + Subject to on-call status as needed or on-call status/recall in the event of emergencies or natural disasters affecting the College of Law.

    + Serves as a Title IX investigator for student issues.

    + Perform other duties as assigned.

    Required Skills

    + Ability to work effectively with a diverse student body, faculty, and staff on two campuses.

    + Ability to work irregular and flexible hours, including nights and weekends, when necessary.

    + Demonstrated knowledge or experience working with and/or advising students, student leaders, and student organizations.

    + Demonstrated ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism and discretion with sensitive or confidential information.

    + Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work independently, to manage time well, and to prioritize projects to maximize productivity.

    Required Experience

    + Juris Doctor preferred or master’s degree in College Student Personnel, Higher Education Administration, or Student Affairs required .

    + Experience with Greek Life, Student Government, student activities/student organizations and special event planning strongly preferred. Additional experience with health and wellness issues preferred.

    + Two or more years related professional experience in a position of responsibility preferred.

     

    Computer Skills : Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

     

    Work ing Conditions : This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. Occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds may be necessary.
