The role you’ll contribute:

+ Performs system checks on irrigation controllers and zones, makes repairs as identified, and keeps maintenance records of each controller and zone in that controller.

+ Directs small teams on irrigation related to landscape projects.

+ Helps identify and communicate deficiencies with regards to irrigation coverage on landscape materials and eliminates water waste by making sure irrigation heads are properly aligned and sized correctly.

+ Uses AdventHealth vehicle to transport equipment and personnel to various AdventHealth properties, and to perform maintenance on irrigation systems at AdventHealth campuses, facilities, and property management sites within the system.

+ Works with outside vendors during renovations or new construction to ensure irrigation needs are met and, where applicable, minimizes impact to existing infrastructure to protect existing landscaped plants.

Qualifications

+ Minimum 5 years of experience in working with commercial irrigation systems

+ Must have a class E Florida Drivers License and driving record in accordance with Florida Hospital policy

+ Experience in working with Central control systems and two wire systems (Preferred)

+ Florida Department of Environmental Protection certificate Green Industries Best Management Practices (GI BMP) (Preferred)

Job Summary:

The Irrigation Technician performs a wide range of routine irrigation and landscape maintenance tasks using hand and power tools or equipment. Responsibilities include a combination of both irrigation system maintenance and installation, as well as, small landscape projects. Main responsibilities include such tasks as the following: irrigation system checks, irrigation repairs to both lateral and mainline, repairing/replacing heads, nozzles, valves and controllers, watering, digging, raking, sodding, edging around valve boxes, installing new lines, heads, wiring and controllers. Must be able to work a flexible schedule to complete work.
