Description
The Business Development Manager will develop and implement business development and marketing activities development services, including engineering and construction. This role is focused on gaining new clients and expanding presence in existing markets through strategic assessments of business opportunities.
Additionally, this role requires a bilingual candidate (Spanish/English), as development projects are throughout the U.S. and Latin America.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Act as a sales representative to engage prospective clients and grow business relationships.
+ Develop and execute business development strategies that align with corporate growth objectives.
+ Communications planning and development.
+ Public speaking.
+ Spokesperson for community outreach.
+ Work with marketing associates to develop press releases for development opportunities.
+ Increase awareness of Burns & McDonnell’s capabilities within the engineering sector.
+ Conduct market research, identify industry trends, and analyze competitors to position the company effectively.
+ Lead business development initiatives tied to trade shows, client events, and industry engagements.
+ Support proposal development and collaborate with technical teams to deliver compelling presentations.
+ Identify synergies across Burns & McDonnell’s various practices and regional offices to leverage client relationships.
+ Represent the firm at networking events, industry associations, and client meetings.
+ Travel up to 50% to engage clients and attend business development activities.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor Degree in engineering, architecture, construction or related degree from an accredited program and 5 years related professional experience in marketing, business development or sales promotion environment, experience in the A/E/C industry is required.
+ Associate Degree and 7 years related professional experience in marketing, business development or sales promotion environment, experience in the A/E/C industry is required.
+ High School Diploma/GED and 9 years related professional experience in marketing, business development or sales promotion environment, experience in the A/E/C industry is required.
+ Bilingual (English/Spanish preferred) with familiarity in U.S. and Latin American markets.
+ Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to present ideas clearly to various stakeholders.
+ Ability to analyze market strategies, identify potential business opportunities, and develop competitive negotiation approaches.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
+ Experience with social media promotion, e.g., LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, X, etc.
Compensation
$120,000.00-430,000.00 Yearly
The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in compliance with all local/state regulations. The expected compensation range for this position is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, prior work experience and work location. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate in our discretionary year-end incentive bonus program.
