Description

A Party Chief, also known as a Land Surveyor, is a professional responsible for measuring and mapping land surfaces. Must have at least 6-10 years of experience.

+ Surveyors use a variety of tools and technology, including GPS, GIS (Geographic Information System), and traditional measuring instruments, to accurately measure land, air space, and water areas.

+ Creating detailed maps and plots of land areas, including boundaries, topography, and other physical features.

+ Determining, verifying, and recording land boundaries for property ownership, development, and legal purposes.

+ Providing critical information for construction projects, including elevation, dimensions, and topography to guide building and infrastructure development.

+ Preparing and maintaining sketches, maps, and reports of legal descriptions of surveys to inform legal deeds and property transactions.

+ Ensuring surveys and measurements comply with local, state, and federal laws and regulations, including zoning, land use, and environmental laws.

+ Researching historical property records and land titles to resolve disputes and inform survey work.

+ Working with engineers, architects, and planners on construction projects and land development.

+ Employing and staying current with the latest survey

Qualifications

+ Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in surveying, geomatics, or a related field.

+ Licensure as a professional surveyor is required, which involves passing a series of exams.

+ Knowledge of surveying technology and software.

+ Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

+ Ability to communicate findings clearly in written and verbal forms.

+ Capability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and navigate different terrains.

+ Surveyors usually work outdoors in the field, often in remote locations, but also spend time indoors for planning, analysis, and reporting.

WORKING CONDITIONS

+ Employees will be required to be able to endure long periods of standing, sitting, walking, bending, and/or lifting.

+ May be required to pick up, lift, carry and move up to 50lbs.

+ Will work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and may occasionally work off platforms/scaffolding.

+ Must be able to work in all weather conditions.

+ Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE)
