Job Summary

The Instrumentation & Control Technician will maintain the I&C systems at a 2 unit combined cycle power plant to meet the specific energy generation requirements of the Luminant System in a safe, reliable, efficient, and environmentally sound manner

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Other duties may be assigned. Directly or through others, the incumbent will:

+ Perform routine and emergency maintenance on the plant instrumentation and control systems with minimum supervision, including weekends, holidays, and scheduled shift.

+ Provide technical expertise for troubleshooting and resolution of plant instrumentation and control systems. Serve as contractor coordinator for contract labor while on-site.

+ Complete all required safe work permits, i.e., permit to work, job safety analysis, lock out tag out, hot work permit, confined space permit.

+ Assist in the design and implementation of O&M and Capital projects.

**LEVEL OF POSITION WILL BE DETERMINED BY APPLICABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE.

Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements

+ High school graduate or GED equivalent, trade school, related military service training programs, or technical training school programs.

+ Additional professional training preferred.

+ Minimum of three (3) years maintenance experience in power generation facilities or similar industrial facilities and field.

+ Must possess basic math skills, good verbal communication skills, and be proficient with the use of power and precision tools.

+ Must know Safety and Environmental rules as they relate to electrical maintenance

+ Must provide positive influence on the maintenance, operations, and management team.

+ Working knowledge of CMMS. Familiarity with Maximo is preferred

+ Additional experience with machinery repair and control systems preferred.

+ Experience working on voltages up to 4160V preferred.

+ **All applicants (excluding applicants currently employed in specific positions in Fossil Generation) must be a successful candidate on the Plant Operator Selection System/Power Plant Operations and Maintenance (POSS / MASS) program in order to be considered a candidate for this position. POSS / MASS exams are administered on an as-needed basis by Human Resources.**
