Overview
Audience Design is the intersection of Communication Strategy, Data & Tech applied to drive growth on behalf of our clients and their brands. With the power of Epsilon Identity at the center, we can unleash these capabilities at massive scale at Publicis Groupe. Our team is a mix of data scientists, analysts, researchers, strategists, and consultants.
The Senior Vice President, Audience Strategy will support VOne internal agencies and clients by leveraging data and analytics to drive communications and audience strategy, deliver actionable insights, and enhance targeting efforts. This role guides teams in designing and executing audience-led strategies that leverage first- and third-party data to reach high-value audiences and drive business growth. This role will require strong analytical skills, data fluency, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will have experience in media, creative, content, CRM, and/or analytics disciplines. Knowledge of research techniques and segmentation techniques are critical.
The role partners closely with the data, analytics, and strategy teams to shape how we build, segment, and activate 1P and 3P audiences across CDPs and platforms. From there, the SVP leads audience insight development, persona creation, journey mapping, and the translation of audience behavior into communication and activation strategies. Responsibilities also include oversight of the strategy and insights team, providing direction and mentorship across disciplines and partners.
The SVP partners with agency strategy leads to develop communications strategies and thought leadership grounded in consumer, competitive, brand, and category insights—as well as macro and micro cultural and media trends—while ensuring integration across disciplines and seamless alignment from strategic development through tactical media planning.
This position requires comfort and fluency working inside data sets and platforms to mine for actionable signals and uncover audience opportunities that drive business performance. A deep understanding of media, content, creators, creative, CRM, and technology is key to driving personalization, targeting effectiveness, and breakthrough consumer experiences.
In addition to delivering communications strategy and strategic oversight, the SVP, Audience Strategy acts as the senior voice to brand clients—owning the overarching communications narrative, ensuring a clear strategic red thread, and guiding how strategies are brought to life across media and the broader consumer experience.
Responsibilities
Client Responsibilities:
+ Work directly with clients and internal teams to establish a clear vision, core behaviors & ways of working for an audience-first approach to business/brand strategy
+ Thoroughly understands the capabilities / use cases for audience tools & when to recommend which based on needs
+ Define and guide new ways of working that enable an audience strategy to inform creative, content, media, and analytics workflows through the lens of audience science, leveraging Epsilon, proprietary data products, and third-party audience platforms
+ Apply proprietary audience intelligence capabilities to help answer clients’ biggest business challenges and uncover new, undetected revenue and growth opportunities.
+ Continuously surveys pulse of client and client-industry needs to prompt and feed innovative ideas/solutions to internal teams
+ Builds and hones deep and trusting relationships with decision-makers/influencers at assigned clients to foster new business opportunities
+ Proactively ideates with team and colleagues to produce novel (award-worthy) solutions for clients
+ Drives continual evolution of high-performance culture through active networking with prospective candidates, performance management, and employee engagement
+ Seeks opportunities to stay up-to-date on technology, tools, techniques, communication software, social media and self-awareness"
Role Objectives:
+ Must have expertise building audience strategies across discipline areas - media, creative, content, creators, CRM, and CX
+ Demonstrated ability to establish high levels of trust and credibility internally and externally, able to influence others to action
+ Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills – effectively presents formal POVs internally and externally
+ Strong leadership skills and general management orientation

+ Has exhibited strong communication skills with senior level roles, and has the ability to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences.
Management Responsibilities:
+ Accountable for VP and Director of Audience Strategy, also work very closely with large team of data scientists working with 1PD
+ Showcases the ability to manage & mentor others
+ Accountable for on-boarding and team readiness
+ Inspires growth and innovation
Qualifications
+ 10+ years of experience with progressive levels of responsibility and business acumen in marketing and communications, team management
+ 7+ years managing multiple direct reports, delegating tasks and overseeing deliverables
+ Strong experience with data visualization using tools such as Tableau, R, and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
+ Expert presentation, storytelling, and project management skills
+ Mastery of the digital analytics space and has innovated to develop new opportunities
+ Expert understanding of audience tools (MRI, GWI, Epsilon)
+ Expert understanding of digital marketing, CRM, and audience segmentation
+ Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets
+ Client-ready presentation, storytelling, and project management skills
+ Expertise with third-party ad serving platforms, DSPs, CDPs, 3rd Party data, pixels and Ad Servers
+ Expertise with customer acquisition goals and optimizing to CPA, CTR, Completion Rate, etc.
+ Deep knowledge of Identity Solution tools (eg. Epsilon, Liveramp, Neustar)

Compensation Range: $180,000 - $265,000. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. Temporary roles may also qualify for participation in our 401(k) plan after eligibility criteria have been met.
