Electrical CAD Co-Op (High School)
We are looking for driven High School Juniors or Seniors to join our newly formed cooperative education program for Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD). As a CADD Co-op you will learn routine drafting and design principles that require application of basic tasks related to mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection, civil and structural engineering. The primary function is to learn and complete basic level drafting assignments by following set tasks, while operating under close supervision. We seek a person with AutoCAD and Revit exposure, an interest in engineering and a commitment to producing high quality work in an environment that is highly team oriented.
This is an opportunity for a high school student interested in engineering, drafting and design to explore a broad range of building systems engineering and design projects. Co-ops work closely as a member of the Engineering Team collaborating with engineering design professionals to broaden their understanding of drafting and design.
Key Responsibilities
+ Learn and apply basis drafting using AutoCAD, Revit and Bluebeam applications.
+ Create design layouts of building systems using 2D and 3D modeling and basic engineering principles in accordance with CADD and BIM standards and requirements.
+ Perform 2D and 3D modeling for electrical systems, including power, lighting, telecom and security.
+ Working as part of a project team, engages in drawing set up, layout, revisions, and design specifications.
+ Participate in job site visits and surveys with engineering staff members.
Qualifications
+ Currently a Junior or Senior in High School working towards a Diploma.
+ Must be in good standing with academics and attendance.
+ Demonstrated interest in pursuing either an Associates' degree or Bachelors' degree in Engineering.
+ Must have some training or experience in computer aided drafting and design.
+ Training or experience working with AutoCAD and/or Revit is preferred.
+ Good communication and interpersonal skills.
+ Ability to read, understand, and create engineering drawings.
+ Strong Computer Skills (Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel).
+ Ability to operate standard office equipment (Copiers, Printers, Scanners).
+ Ability to work in a team environment.
+ Must have the ability to commute with reliable transportation.
