This Software Engineer position offers a unique opportunity to work directly within a high-volume manufacturing environment at Ford, focusing on both system development and essential real-time support. The role requires comfort operating under pressure, quickly addressing critical issues that impact production. You must possess strong interpersonal skills and maintain composure while interacting with individuals who may be experiencing high stress. Success hinges on your ability to confidently present technical expertise to both business and IT groups, manage projects despite ambiguous initial requirements and tight deadlines, and demonstrate the leadership needed to organize and prioritize effectively in demanding situations.
What you'll do...
+ Identify technical debt on applications within the Manufacturing Monitoring portfolio, develop a plan to remediate this debt and work with the 50 plants to schedule downtime to deploy the solutions.
+ Have the skills to be the North American support lead in addressing reported issues from the business and IT on the Monitoring applications currently deployed to all Ford manufacturing plants.
+ Have skills in coordinating complicated test plans against the monitoring portfolio in the five technical stacks we currently have in production.
+ Be comfortable being the support lead and directing others to meet the quarterly objectives and key results for the Monitoring portfolio.
You'll have...
+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering or related field or a combination of education and equivalent work experience
+ Technical skills in Windows Server Management, SQL Server, Python and Angular with Java Script.
+ Deep knowledge of the internal workings of FIS, FIS 2 Go and IIOT Monitoring would be preferred.
+ A solid understanding of the server networks utilized at the manufacturing plants with the ability to support monitoring devices within the plant under our control.
+ Experience in working under pressure on real time issues that are affecting the plant's ability to produce vehicles and/or components.
+ Working knowledge of plant resident Process Control Boards and the technologies used to operate them.
