    Position Description:

    General Summary: Generally expected to work as a valued member of the XL Specialized Trailers team. Maintains production by assembling parts and subassemblies.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    + Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools and materials.

    + Positions parts and components by using templates or reading measurements.

    + Installs components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies.

    + Verifies specifications by measuring completed components.

    + Resolves assemble problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources.

    + Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions.

    + Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations. Wears proper personal protective equipment.

    + Identifies and anticipates safety and health concerns and hazards by surveying environmental, operational, and occupational conditions.

    + Contributes to team effort by accomplishing relating results as needed.

    Ancillary Duties:

    + Assist with the continuous process improvement of XL Specialized Trailers by leading and participating in projects such as lean, 5-S and Kaizen..

    + Perform any other tasks assigned to support and improve the overall operations of the XL Specialized Trailers.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    None.

    Supervision Received:

    Works under direct supervision. The employee is responsible for carrying out the assignment, keeping their supervisor informed of progress and potential problems or future implications.

    Education and Experience:

    + High School diploma or GED.

    Essential Skills and Experience:

    + Problem analysis and problem resolution at a functional level.

    Physical Demands:

    + Walking, sitting, standing, climbing, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling.

    + Ability to routinely lift 25 lbs. and occasionally up to 50lbs and move up to 100 pounds.

    + Ability to work overtime, including Saturday work.

    Work Environment:

    Work is primarily performed indoors in production facility.
