    Job Description

    Supportive/Affordable Housing and Services coordinates the development of supportive housing, master leasing, senior affordable housing and other related services. Staff work closely with other city agencies (OMB, HPD, DOHMH, DFTA, Health and Hospitals and others), State agencies (OMH, among others) and with community partners, such as housing and supportive services providers, to help develop and ensure that the types of housing and services provided to homeless, vulnerable and low-income New Yorkers are available and that knowledge and availability of these resources is shared across agencies.

    Supportive/Affordable Housing and Services is recruiting for (1) one Administrative Director of Social Service to function as the DIRECTOR, PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND PLANNING, SUPPORTIVE HOUSING who will:

    - Assess protocols for the identification and vetting of homeless families for placement into various Supportive Housing programs; tracks allocation of referral across priority populations and/or vulnerability indexes.

     

    - Outline and assesses processing/timeliness of all referral processes to identify areas of opportunities and deficits in order to achieve aggressive goals and targets. Informs, directs and guides staff in designated program areas to meet expectations through the timely production of high-quality deliverables.

     

    - Develop program monitoring tools and reports to be used in both the internal and external relationships with DHS and other HRA departments to ensure an on-going pipeline of candidates; refines candidate selection criteria and coordinates with DHS shelters and HRA vetting departments.

     

    - Prepare comprehensive statistical and analytic reports on eligible households for entire portfolio, running comparative reports within portfolio across various Supportive Housing programs.

     

    - Participate in key internal and external meetings and strategy sessions and oversees special projects as it relates to the scope of Supportive Housing programs. S/he will also be required to effectively solve problems working with groups of individuals with different interests.

     

    - Conduct regular meetings with project coordinators to ensure continuity of service; identify specific operational challenges in he short and long term and develops solutions.

     

    - Construct queries of the agency’s information systems in response to internal and external data requests, assist the division in the formation of new reports to support policy decision making, and work to effectively communicate the results of these analyses to agency and partners.

     

    - Oversee work-streams with OTS w/in DSS and DHS for short term and long term technology solutions to digitize the candidate selection and referral process.

     

    - Work on special projects as required and will be required to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.

    Qualifications

    1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and four years of progressively responsible experience, including one year at the administrative or managerial level in a large governmental agency, business firm, civic or community organization operating in the area of social services; or

    2. Education and/or experience equivalent to "1" above. However, all candidates must have a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and the one year of experience at the administrative or management level as described in "1" above.

    Salary Min: $ 58,700.00

     

    Salary Max: $ 89,699.00
