The Community Addiction Recovery Enterprise (CARE) program in Carlton has a rewarding career opportunity for a leader who is dedicated to helping people who struggle with chemical dependency and substance abuse reclaim their lives. CARE Carlton is a women’s-only facility, specializing in the delivery of treatment for women with chemical dependency. Along with inpatient and outpatient services, the program offers adult learning for clients, such as parenting skills, domestic violence prevention and recovery, healthy relationships, and spirituality.
This position provides advanced professional level independent and integrated counseling and case management for clients with co-occurring disorders (CODs) in a residential treatment setting. This will include development and leadership of an individualized treatment planning process. The Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) guides the multidisciplinary team in the daily functions of treatment for individual clients, is responsible for implementation of substance use disorder (SUD) treatment interventions and oversees the integration of treatment among team members for clients with co-occurring conditions. Responsibilities include:
+ Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the variety of chemical dependency and dual diagnosis treatment activities.
+ Assist in the development and maintenance of a treatment milieu that is therapeutic in nature, as well as fiscally viable.
+ Maintain records and prepare reports on department activities.
+ Participate in assigned meetings.
+ Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff members, public and private agencies, employers, community leaders, and general public.
+ Lead coverage planning for LADC co-workers in their absence and arrange for coverage of own case load when absences are anticipated.
Minimum Qualifications
To qualify you must:
+ Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, behavior analysis, or related field; and
+ Licensure as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor in the State of Minnesota
+ Two years of post-bachelor’s degree experience providing behavioral health clinical services including at least 3 of the 5 activities listed below:
+ Delivering psychoeducation and/or behavioral interventions
+ Providing case coordination among multidisciplinary team members
+ Conducting comprehensive assessments
+ Leading development of treatment/support plans as required by program licensure
+ Planning discharge/transition and/or aftercare
OR
+ Master’s degree in psychology, social work, behavior analysis, or related field;
+ Licensure as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor in the State of Minnesota
+ One year of post master’s degree experience providing behavioral health clinical services including at least 3 of the 5 activities listed below:
+ Delivering psychoeducation and/or behavioral interventions
+ Providing case coordination among multidisciplinary team members
+ Conducting comprehensive assessments
+ Leading development of treatment/support plans as required by program licensure
+ Planning discharge/transition and/or aftercare
Preferred Qualifications
+ Knowledge of the civil commitment process
+ Experience working with individuals with co-occurring mental health, substance abuse and or behavioral health disorders
