    As Manager of Culture and Community Engagement, you’ll join a high-impact team committed to delivering American Airlines' purpose of Caring for People on Life’s Journey. This role focuses on **execution** and the **experience** —championing initiatives that connect our team members, elevate our culture, and foster advocacy for the communities we serve.     + Lead programs that drive connection and engagement across the company.

    + Serve as a subject matter expert in culture and community engagement.

    + Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to execute strategies with measurable,

    What you'll do

     

    This role is essential in bridging company values with practical, on-the-ground initiatives. Core responsibilities include:

     

    + **Community Engagement & Advocacy:** Serve as the primary liaison to designated communities. Ensure their voices are heard and integrated into programs that reflect our shared commitment to our purpose of care.

    + **Program & Event Execution:** Lead end-to-end development and delivery of internal and external engagement events using scalable frameworks and tools.

    + **Relationship Management:** Build and nurture strong, trust-based partnerships across departments and with external organizations through clear communication and dependable follow-through.

    + **Governance & Compliance** : Ensure consistency and accountability by ensuring all initiatives comply with corporate standards and regulatory requirements.

    + S **trategic Partnerships & Sponsorships:** Develop and manage value-aligned sponsorships and partner relationships to amplify our support of team members and community causes.

    + **Insights & Reporting:** Support delivery of KPIs, analyze program effectiveness, and deliver data-driven insights and recommendations to senior leadership.

    + **Employee Business Resource Group (EBRG) Collaboration:** Support EBRG programming through strategic planning, governance guidance, and event execution—ensuring alignment with corporate policies and purpose

     

    All you'll need for success

    Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

    + Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

    + At least 5 years of experience in program execution, event planning, or strategic project management

    + Proven success in culture-building, employee engagement, or community partnership development

    + Experience working cross-functionally and driving initiatives through collaboration

    + Familiarity with Human Resources Center of Excellence (COE) operating models

    Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

    + Exceptional verbal and written communication

    + Advanced relationship-building and stakeholder engagement

    + Meticulous attention to detail in program and event coordination

    + Experience with performance measurement tools (e.g., engagement surveys, participation metrics)

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, and collaboration platforms

    Skills, Licenses & Certifications

    + Experience in the airline industry

    + Formal training in project management or certification (e.g., PMP)

    + Strong ability to communicate effectively—both verbally and in writing—across all levels of the organization.

    + Physical ability to safely perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation. Where necessary, HR will partner with employees to assess and accommodate needs through an interactive process.
