• Intern - AI Engineer

    Hyundai Autoever America (Fountain Valley, CA)


    Hyundai AutoEver America's HQ (Fountain Valley or Costa Mesa, depending on business unit) will be running a 12-week internship program from 06/16/2025 to 09/05/2025.  Interns will be expected to work anywhere between 20 - 24 hours a week, not to exceed 30 hours a week.

    Job Purpose:

    Hyundai AutoEver America is seeking a motivated Software Engineering Professional with a passion for continuous innovation in AI and Machine Learning. As an AI Engineer Intern in the Emerging Technology department, the candidate will leverage both technology and data to develop cutting-edge AI solutions that drive innovation and enhance enterprise applications.

    Essential Functions:

    + Support the team in exploring Generative AI tools and frameworks for internal use cases

    + Design, test, and refine prompts to improve AI response quality and relevance

    + Assist with documenting AI system designs and developing basic proof-of-concept solutions

    + Contribute to building simple prototypes using LLMs and GenAI APIs

    + Help prepare sample data or pipelines for AI model input

    + Support the team in evaluating GenAI APIs and frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, and Semantic Kernel

    + Help test AI features for response accuracy and fine-tune performance

    + Contribute to building internal documentation and sharing knowledge around AI use cases

    + Participate in brainstorming sessions around the development of AI-powered features

    Basic Requirements:

    + Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field

    + Basic programming skills in Python (other languages are a plus)

    + Interest in AI/ML technologies, especially Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs)

    + Understanding of basic concepts in APIs, data structures, or web applications

    + Open to hands-on learning and experimentation with GenAI tools and frameworks such as Azure AI Foundry, Copilot studio, and LangChain

    + Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and version control tools like GitLab is a plus

    + Knowledge of front-end technologies such as ReactJS is a plus

    + Strong problem-solving mindset and a passion for learning new technologies

    + Good communication skills and a collaborative attitude

     

    Pay Range - $25.00 to $27.00/hour
