Job Title: Solutions Architect (SME)

Clearance: Top-Secret (TS) Clearance

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Solutions Architect Subject Matter Expert (SME) with a Top Secret clearance and 10+ years of experience to join our team in support of complex mission-critical systems. The ideal candidate will bring extensive technical expertise and leadership in systems architecture, engineering analysis, and the development of secure, scalable, cloud-based solutions.

This position involves high-level architecture work in system design, evaluation, planning, testing, and operations. The candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring system performance and integration, working directly with senior technical personnel, program managers, and external stakeholders. The role also includes supporting the Authorization to Operate (ATO) and accreditation processes.

Responsibilities:

•    Perform complex and advanced architecture tasks supporting system development, engineering analysis, and research initiatives.

•    Lead integration of processes and methodologies to support high-performance system design.

•    Collaborate with senior technical personnel and program leadership to plan, oversee, and evaluate technical product development.

•    Apply expert-level knowledge of scientific principles across technical disciplines to solve diverse system challenges.

•    Serve as a key liaison with internal staff and external customers, representing the program in technical discussions.

•    Provide direct support for system accreditation and cybersecurity compliance processes, including ATO documentation.

•    Develop and deploy solutions using modern cloud and DevSecOps tools and practices.

Required Qualifications:

•    Active Top Secret clearance (required).

•    10+ years of professional experience in systems architecture or engineering roles.

•    Associate degree in technical discipline (or equivalent: 2 additional years of related experience may be substituted).

•    Proven experience in leading complex technical systems and multi-disciplinary integration efforts.

•    Demonstrated expertise in supporting secure systems and navigating ATO and accreditation processes.

•    Amazon Web Services (AWS) – including AMI build and deployment.

•    Microsoft Azure Cloud – including AVM build and deployment.

•    GitLab – source control, CI/CD pipeline management.

•    JFrog Artifactory – artifact repository and lifecycle management.

•    Splunk – log analysis and operational intelligence.

•    Nessus Tenable Security Center – vulnerability assessment and security compliance.

Preferred Qualifications:

•    Certifications in AWS, Azure, or Security (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator, Security+).

•    Experience with DevSecOps frameworks and automation tools.

•    Strong communication skills and the ability to operate independently in a technical advisory capacity.
