Position Title: Mechanical Designer
Compensation Range: $65,000-80,000 USD annual
Division: AGI Farm

The Opportunity
The Mechanical Designer will work closely with other members in Application Engineering as well as downstream Manufacturing Engineers to support the design of specific equipment using pre-engineered subcomponents in each product family. The role will entail designing custom and configurable assemblies.
Responsibilities
+ Work independently within established design procedures, equipment portfolios and templates to develop project specific equipment designs or configurations meeting customer requirements.
+ Maintain a customer focus.
+ Read customer specifications, to determine what configurations are required, and work with Application Engineer of record to provide appropriate solutions.
+ Represent your team in project meetings with customers, cross divisional or corporate.
+ Provide market feedback/requirements for Product Management.
+ Track changes in equipment designs throughout the approval process and assist with cost impact to support the change order process.
+ Communicate the customer approved drawings approved by Application Engineer to the manufacturing locations, such that the correct equipment is manufactured at the appropriate time.
+ Review and release production drawings to manufacturing locations.
+ Conduct self-review of individual equipment approval drawings to ensure correct and accurate information and compliance to corporate standards prior to hand off to higher ranking Designers/Engineers.
+ Travel to jobsites or AGI manufacturing centers when necessary.
+ Other duties as required.
Qualifications
+ Required Associate of Science OR Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering from an accredited university. Preferred Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Engineering.
+ Industrial Material Handling, Structural, Storage, or Conditioning Experience preferred (1+ years)
+ Excellent communicator, both verbal and written
+ Ability to work independently or as part of a team
+ Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and problem-solving ability
+ Mechanical aptitude
+ Ability to think analytically and make accurate and timely decisions
+ Highly organized with excellent time management skills
+ Ability to exercise good judgment, initiative, and a strong work ethic
+ Strong team player.
+ Proficient in the use of MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
+ Proficient in 3D modeling software (CAD)
+ Comfortable using complex file systems and Engineering Product Data Management (EPDM) systems.
