Purpose
Accountable for leading, guiding, and directing the Trinity Health enterprise area functional responsibilities. Enable enterprise level strategy to address internal or external business & regulatory issues; provide functional expertise and ensure fulfillment of performance and service standards. Responsible for consistent operating performance and achieving financial goals. Identifies, defines & solves complex problems that impact the management & direction of the business; Collaborate with SASS Area, Regions and Health Ministries to ensure consistency and integration of strategy and operations. Maintaining awareness of new industry developments and standards. Provides decision support, operations &/or optimization leadership focus

Executive Leadership
Providing advice, guidance, and leadership to RHM and Market Leaders in developing strategies and in the achievement of performance goals.

Vendor/Contract Labor Management centralizing strategy and optimizing spend
Strategic Support & Accountability
Collaborates in system-wide strategy development and deployment of functional area priorities and initiatives
Responsible for supporting state and regional efforts to comply with functional area priorities
Accountable for the selection, evaluation, and overall success of the functional leadership teams within the region and market
Organization-wide focal point for establishing functional strategies and governance over financials and staffing
Communication liaison between operational leader and functional leaders

Functional Role (not inclusive of titles or advancement career progression)
Director Capital Construction is responsible for directing and managing significant Capital Projects including fiduciary responsibility to manage cost, cash management, timing and scope of major capital projects.
Develops, implements and oversees a management and staffing plan, and a fixed asset plan for the assigned service area and associated facilities; may include Trinity Health Senior Communities facilities. Participates in Facilities & Construction Services committees and initiatives. Responsible for leading a team of project managers and reporting to hospital executives.
Assures assigned areas are managed in accordance with the goals and policies of Trinity Health. Is responsible for Capital Project budgets and directs corrective actions in response to significant budget variances. Develops and maintains a systematic approach to the procurement of goods and services that is consistent with Trinity Health policies and optimizes the spending. Provides leadership for capital project management for the assigned service area in the planning and execution of major capital projects throughout Trinity Health. Incorporates Trinity Health processes, benchmarks, standards and specifications and project management tools. Participates in the strategic financial planning, capital planning process. Provides industry-leading guidance on the planning, design and construction of capital projects.
+ Formulates short and long-term goals, objectives, plans and budgets for all areas of Planning, Design and Construction projects and activities.
+ Responsible for all pre-design planning, schematic design, design development and construction document development.
+ Oversees, updates revisions and implementation of area site and facilities master plans.
+ Conducts complex and detailed cost/benefit studies and based on analyses, recommends improvements in Trinity Health facilities, including construction or renovation of structures, and purchase of new equipment based on personal inspection of departments and budgets.
+ Leadership and primary accountability for capital project activities within the assigned area.
+ Leads and facilitates major capital projects, including design and construction of new and or renovated hospital and ambulatory sites.
+ Establishes and ensures compliance with support service productivity standards.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree Architecture, Building Construction or Engineering is required, or equivalent experience.
Master’s degree in related field preferred.
Demonstrated expert acumen of the healthcare design industry.
Experience:
Seven to Ten years progressively more responsible related leadership experience in healthcare design, capital project management and master planning initiatives.
Must possess proven track record of successful management of multi-million-dollar construction projects.
Familiarity with Standard Agreement templates as published by the American Institute of Architects (AIA) covering all facets of capital project management.
Proficient with construction document reading (plans and specification); working knowledge of codes, regulations and standards including but not limited to; Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), The Joint Commission (TJC), Det Norske Veritas (DNV), other national, state, and municipal regulatory requirements, policy and procedure development, and implementation.
