Gottlieb Memorial Hospital seeks a dedicated and experienced Classroom Teacher Assistant to join our Early Childhood Education team. Our mission is to nurture and develop young children to reach their full potential, providing all children with opportunities to learn, grow, and thrive.

Under the supervision of the Center Director, the Early Childhood Education Aide provides assistance in the classroom based upon DCFS standards.

Educating Children:

• Provide a nurturing and inclusive environment for all children.

• Foster creativity, engagement, excitement, and curiosity.

• Provide developmentally appropriate learning experiences.

• Follow and implement planned weekly lesson plans.

• Assist in conducting quarterly child development assessments.

• Partner with co-teachers to implement best teaching practices.

Relationship Building & Communications:

• Build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents.

• Work cohesively with classroom co-teachers and colleagues.

• Be an excellent and transparent communicator.

Classroom Support:

• Experienced in assisting the management and daily operations of an Early Childhood Education Classroom.

• Demonstrates proactive thinking with strong organizational and problem-solving skills to support teaching staff.

Position Requirements:

Minimum Education:

+ Must have a high school diploma or equivalency certificate (GED).

+ Must have current Illinois Gateways to Opportunity Membership (or be willing to obtain one during the first 15 days of employment)

+ Must be willing to complete 15 hours of Gateways to Opportunity Continuing Education Units during the first 15 days of employment ·

+ Must have Pediatric CPR/First Aid Certification (or complete one during the first 30 days of employment) ·

+ Must have current Food Handling Certification (or obtain one before the first day of employment) ·

+ Preferred: Associate's degree in early childhood education. ·

+ Must be 19 years of age. ·

+ Specify Degree(s): College coursework in early childhood education preferred. Residency: N/A

Minimum Experience:

+ Required: 1 year of experience working in a childcare center. ·

+ Preferred: 2 years working in an early childhood education classroom setting.

**Licensure/Certifications:** ·

Required: Food Service Certification (or obtain within the first 15 days of employment, Current CPR/First Aid Certification (or become certified at Gottlieb Memorial Hospital within the first 30 days of employment), Member of Gateways to Opportunity (or obtain within the first 15 days of employment).

Pay Range: $15.00 - $19.28 per hour
