    Job Description

    Maytag Aircraft has won a contract for for aircraft & ground fuel services, storage and distribution at DFSP Norfolk, Virgina. Contract start date is July 1, 2025.

     

    Assistant Regional Fuel Superintendent (RFS) - Craney Island

     

    The ARFS must have experience in bulk fuel terminal operations to include the receipt, storage, internal handling, and shipment of petroleum products via all modes of transportation, to include ocean tanker, barge , truck, pipeline, and aircraft refueling operations. Practical experience must include the operation and maintenance of bulk petroleum storage tank systems, the interconnecting pipelines, receipt headers, fill stands, direct aviation fuel servicing equipment,service stations (manual/automated), and the maintenance and upkeep of pier facilities, environmental systems, and grounds maintenance.

     

    The ARFS must also have a working knowledge of environmental regulations, fuel quality surveillance, inventory and accounting, and preventive maintenance systems to the extent that ARFS understands the documents and reports for which ARFS must be responsible.

     

    ARFS must have extensive knowledge of Automated Fuel Handing Equipment (AFHE) and be capable to collaborate scheduled movements of fuel. Temporary replacements for this position are required to have the same qualifications listed above.

     

    Supervisory Experience: The ARFS must have five years of experience in petroleum storage and distribution operations, airfield petroleum services, and fuel systems maintenance within five years immediately prior to the contract start date or the individual’s hiring date. Previous supervisory experience required in bulk fuel terminal operations with emphasis in systems operations, maintenance, safety, and environmental compliance. Experience must include Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent positions at a deep-water bulk fuel terminal with direct oversight and management responsibilities for the entire terminal.

     

    Spill Response and Hazardous Waste Management Qualifications: The ARFS must be a qualified Facility Spill Coordinator (FSC) abd must be qualified in the management of hazardous waste and present a certificate of completion for HAZWOPER training (40 hours) on or before the contract start date. In addition, the ARFS will complete required underground and aboveground storage tank Operator Training, Spill Response Training, Spill Management Team-Qualified Individual OPA 9 Training, Hazardous Material Regulations Training, and any other DLA Sponsor Training, as it becomes available.

     

    Specialized Experience: The ARFS must have a minimum of five years of specialized experience equivalent to that outlined above.
