Job Description
Maytag Aircraft has won a contract for aircraft & ground fuel services, storage and distribution at DFSP Norfolk, Virginia. Contract start date is July 1, 2025.
Fuel Distribution System Mechanic (FDSM)
The FDSM’s must have a minimum of two years of experience in the maintenance of fuel distribution systems ranging from ground product service stations to large bulk distribution facilities in petroleum services operations, maintenance, and documented supervisory experience gained prior to the performance start date. The contractor must ensure personnel assigned to all maintenance tasks have specialized experience supervising and performing liquid fuels maintenance on the various types of fuel systems ranging from ground product service stations to large bulk distribution facilities that are included in this contract. Including but not limited to cathodic protection systems, leak detection systems, automated tank gauging systems, high/low level alarms, and knowledge of DoD fuels management instructions and procedures as they comply with all applicable laws, regulations, required maintenance and repair of bulk and retail fuels terminals, systems, components, and equipment.
FDSM’s must be capable of inspecting, evaluating conditions (trouble shooting), detecting, and recognizing system component malfunctions, misalignments, leaks, and adjustment issues and performing scheduled and unscheduled fuel system maintenance. FDSM’s must be capable of removing, repairing, and replacing system components, and have extensive knowledge of automated tank gauging systems, high/low level alarms, cathodic protection, and leak detection systems. DLA Installation Support will perform maintenance on cathodic protection and leak detection systems. Training for the required operator system checks and reports on the cathodic protection and leak detection system will be provided to the by DLA Installation Support.
