Position Information
We are seeking an IT Professional II, under general direction, to provide advanced troubleshooting, analysis, and technical support for unit-level information technology services across multiple departments within the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, supporting instructional environments including classrooms and teaching labs as part of Texas A&M AgriLife Information Technology (AIT).
Responsibilities:
+ Follow AIT standard stakeholder resource management procedures and policies.
+ Utilize all available information resources and tools to research and resolve issues.
+ Triage, manage, and resolve technical assistance requests via phone, email, web submissions, or in-person.
+ Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot hardware and software systems, providing administrative support for assigned applications.
+ Serve as a resource for internal and external stakeholders.
+ Provide primary technical and application support for approved computer applications and platforms.
+ Assist stakeholders with determining specifications for purchases of hardware and software upgrades.
+ Identify and escalate situations requiring urgent attention according to established protocols.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
+ Associate’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ One year of related experience in IT.
+ Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and machine learning (AI) applications.
+ Strong attention to detail, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and communicate technical and non-technical information clearly.
+ Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others in a collaborative team environment.
+ Ability to adapt to new and emerging technology and policy changes.
+ Ability to develop and maintain positive professional relationships directly with stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Knowledge of Microsoft 365 environment and applications.
+ Knowledge of using remote assistance tools, Help Desk Ticketing applications, hardware & software troubleshooting support, fundamental network concepts.
+ Ability to formulate and contribute ideas for service growth.
Other Requirements:
+ Work hours are Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm CST.
+ Work is performed in an office environment.
+ Occasional exposure to loud noise and outdoors when traversing managed environments and research areas.
+ Must be able to lift or move and transport heavy objects such as 50 pounds.
+ Must be able to position self to install equipment and occasionally ascend/descend ladders.
+ A company vehicle is not provided.
What You Need to Know
Salary: Pay grade 67. Compensation for this position is commensurate based on the selected candidate’s qualifications.
