Company Overview:
Our client, a national financial services organization operating in a highly regulated environment, is looking for a Systems Administrator with strong Splunk expertise and a background in operational documentation and production support. This is a hands-on role focused on supporting compliance-driven systems and onboarding applications into a centralized monitoring environment using Splunk.
The ideal candidate is experienced in day-to-day operational support, has advanced scripting capabilities, understands enterprise infrastructure, and is confident documenting technical processes for runbooks and response playbooks. This is not a build or project-based role—it is a production-facing operations position that requires attention to detail, accountability, and the ability to handle repetitive, routine tasks efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Support the onboarding of enterprise applications into **Splunk** , including log ingestion, parsing, alerting, and dashboard creation
+ Develop and maintain **technical playbooks, runbooks, and SOPs** to guide operations teams in incident response and daily processes
+ Monitor production systems and respond to issues in real-time, following defined procedures and documentation
+ Automate recurring operational tasks using **PowerShell scripting**
+ Troubleshoot and maintain Windows-based infrastructure and application environments
+ Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define monitoring needs, ensure alert accuracy, and document response workflows
+ Participate in an on-call support rotation and provide production-level troubleshooting
Required Skills:
+ Proven experience onboarding and managing applications in **Splunk** , including dashboards, alerts, queries, and log monitoring
+ Strong **PowerShell scripting** experience used in production environments
+ Solid background in **Windows Server administration and support**
+ Demonstrated ability to write **technical documentation** , runbooks, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
+ Familiarity with archiving systems, compliance platforms, or tools used in highly regulated environments
+ Willingness to support **on-call production operations** and respond to incidents in a fast-paced environment
Nice-to-Have Skills:
+ Experience in a **financial services** , **legal** , or **healthcare** operations environment
+ Familiarity with **Java or Tomcat-based applications**
+ Knowledge of **incident-based monitoring** frameworks and proactive alerting strategies
+ Experience with **ServiceNow** , **Power BI** , or database change management processes
Who Will Succeed in This Role:
+ Someone who thrives in **day-to-day operations support** and understands the importance of consistency, stability, and compliance
+ A candidate who enjoys building process, improving documentation, and driving clarity across operational procedures
+ A strong communicator who can document complex processes in a way that’s easy for others to follow
+ A reliable team player who is open to being **on-call** , addressing urgent issues, and working within a **regulatory framework**
Not a Fit If You:
+ Are primarily seeking **project work** , new builds, or development-focused roles
+ Are not comfortable working in **production operations or compliance-heavy environments**
+ Lack experience with **Splunk, scripting, or Windows-based infrastructure support**
+ Are not open to **on-call support** responsibilities
