Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Chatsworth, California. In this role, you will handle various accounting functions, including accounts payable, product accounting, and general accounting tasks. This position requires a strong understanding of financial systems and excellent problem-solving skills to ensure accurate and timely financial operations.
Responsibilities:
• Review and process purchase orders, invoices, and payments to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Resolve discrepancies with vendors and other stakeholders related to billing and payment issues.
• Oversee the approval and posting of corporate credit card charges, mileage reimbursements, and expense reports.
• Communicate with vendors and internal teams to reconcile payable transactions and generate accurate reports.
• Prepare and reconcile reports for timely payments to product vendors and resolve aged balances in collaboration with the product administrator.
• Process product cancellations, including issuing refunds to customers and handling refund checks from administrators.
• Assist in preparing and posting journal entries to maintain accurate account balances.
• Support cross-departmental inquiries regarding purchase orders, expenses, and payments.
• Contribute to sales tax and business tax return filings to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Manage promotional gift card programs, including tracking usage and maintaining inventory records. Requirements
• At least 2 years of experience in accounting or a related field.
• Proficiency in accounting software systems such as NetSuite.
• Hands-on experience with accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and their functionality in financial operations.
• Strong skills in auditing, billing functions, and financial reconciliation.
• Knowledge of Concur and other expense management tools is a plus.
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to effectively communicate with vendors, clients, and internal teams
