Description
Ross Wheeler with Robert Half is looking for an experienced Human Resources (HR) Manager to oversee payroll, benefits administration, compliance, and employee relations within a dynamic construction environment. This role demands a proactive and detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of HR policies, payroll systems, and workforce management. You will play a pivotal role in managing HR functions while ensuring compliance with labor laws and organizational standards.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee and manage end-to-end payroll processing using QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise.
• Ensure compliance with prevailing wage laws and other industry-specific regulations.
• Administer employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, and 401(k) plans.
• Coordinate and maintain employee onboarding, terminations, and personnel records.
• Track and review job budgets, supporting related accounting and reporting functions.
• Handle workers' compensation, general liability, and related compliance requirements.
• Provide support with scheduling systems and ensure accurate workforce planning.
• Conduct internal audits to ensure adherence to wage and hour regulations.
• Manage office inventory and provide administrative support as needed.
• Prepare and reconcile HR and payroll reports to assist in decision-making.

Requirements • A minimum of 5 years of experience in HR and payroll, preferably in construction or skilled trades.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong knowledge of prevailing wage laws and compliance standards.
• Familiarity with workers' compensation, liability reporting, and benefits administration.
• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
• Experience with scheduling software and workforce planning is a plus.
• High integrity and a strong understanding of labor laws and HR best practices.
• Proven ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
