Description We are looking for an experienced In-House Litigation Attorney to join our legal team and drive strategic legal efforts in collections and creditor’s rights. This position offers an opportunity to manage a diverse caseload, represent the company in litigation matters, and ensure compliance with relevant laws and policies. Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement litigation strategies in collaboration with the General Counsel and internal teams to support the company’s objectives.
• Represent the organization in state and federal court proceedings, including cases related to breach of contract and payment disputes.
• Handle all aspects of litigation, including drafting pleadings, managing discovery, conducting depositions, and appearing at hearings and trials.
• Negotiate settlements and payment arrangements, as well as participate in mediation and alternative dispute resolution processes.
• Oversee judgment enforcement efforts and coordinate with internal and external resources to optimize collection outcomes.
• Monitor and manage cases involving bankruptcy, foreclosure, and probate matters that impact the company.
• Ensure compliance with applicable state and federal laws, as well as internal legal policies and procedures.
• Maintain detailed records of legal activities and provide regular updates to senior leadership on case progress and outcomes.
• Collaborate with outside counsel when necessary to develop and execute effective litigation strategies. Requirements • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in good standing with the Texas State Bar.
• A minimum of 3 years of litigation experience, with a focus on collections, creditor’s rights, and related areas.
• Proficiency in legal software and tools, as well as strong legal research and writing skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage a high-volume caseload independently and efficiently.
• Strong analytical and negotiation skills, with a proven ability to develop strategic litigation plans.
• Experience in in-house counsel roles is preferred but not required.
