Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Tax Accountant to join our team in LaVista, Nebraska. In this role, you will work closely with clients to manage their bookkeeping needs, ensuring accuracy and compliance across various financial functions. This position offers the opportunity to utilize your expertise in accounting and tax preparation while collaborating in a meticulous and client-focused environment.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and reconcile bank accounts to ensure accurate financial records.

• Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, maintaining timely and organized processes.

• Prepare payroll and sales tax returns, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

• Compile and analyze financial statements, providing clear insights to clients.

• Conduct reviews of work completed by other staff members to ensure accuracy and quality.

• Utilize QuickBooks (desktop and online) and other accounting software to streamline bookkeeping tasks.

• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries and resolving financial issues.

• Travel to client offices within the local metro area as needed.

• Assist in preparing for year-end financial reporting and tax compliance activities.

• Work additional hours during peak tax compliance periods to meet deadlines. Requirements • Proficiency in QuickBooks (desktop and online) and Microsoft Office applications.

• Strong background in preparing payroll and sales tax returns.

• Demonstrated ability to compile and analyze financial statements effectively.

• Experience reviewing and ensuring the accuracy of other team members' work.

• At least 2-3 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting preferred, with attention to detail.

• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients.

• Willingness to work overtime during busy tax seasons.

• Familiarity with accounting software systems, including CCH ProSystem and IntelliConnect, is a plus.
