Hannah Savage is partnering with a great organization in Rochester ,NY who's looking for a Payroll Specialist. The Payroll Specialist will join a fantastic, growing and well-tenured team. In this role, you will oversee the accurate and efficient processing of payroll for a diverse workforce, including union and non-union employees across multiple states. This position requires a strong understanding of payroll systems, compliance with regulations, and the ability to handle high-volume payroll operations.

Responsibilities:

+ Process employee payroll, including salaries, bonuses, severances, and other compensation, with precision and timeliness.

+ Manage and update payroll records for new hires, terminations, and salary adjustments, ensuring data accuracy.

+ Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws by calculating and reporting withholdings accurately.

+ Oversee deductions for employee benefits such as healthcare, retirement plans, and other voluntary contributions.

+ Handle garnishment orders by prioritizing, entering data, and communicating with vendors and employees as needed.

+ Monitor and maintain timekeeping systems to track employee hours and attendance effectively.

+ Prepare and distribute payroll reports for management and other departments as required.

+ Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies or errors in a thorough and timely manner.

+ Maintain organized and accurate payroll records, including tax documentation and payment histories.

+ Collaborate with HR and finance teams to ensure seamless payroll operations and compliance with labor regulations.

Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll administration.

• Proficiency in processing multi-state payroll for over 500 employees.

• Experience managing union payroll operations and related reporting.

• Strong familiarity with ADP Workforce Now and Sage Timberline software.

• Knowledge of payroll compliance, including federal, state, and local regulations.

• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities to address payroll discrepancies.
