    Description

    We are seeking an experienced and strategic Controller to lead and oversee our accounting function. This Controller will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of financial operations, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and accounting standards, and supporting business growth through strong financial leadership. The Controller brings a combination of operational excellence, technical accounting expertise, and team leadership skills.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Ensure a robust and efficient operating and business controls environment in compliance with GAAP and all relevant federal, state, local, and international laws and best practices.

    + Oversee all accounting processes, tools, and systems to ensure accurate and efficient financial operations.

    + Manage banking relationships, monitor and manage cash flow, and track company expenses.

    + Maintain and enforce spend controls and approval policies to support fiscal responsibility across the organization.

    + Handle all journal entries and general ledger management, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

    + Coordinate internal and external audits, including 401(k) plan and insurance data audits.

    + Deliver accurate, timely financial reporting at monthly close and throughout the reporting cycle.

    + Oversee and maintain the Chart of Accounts, ensuring appropriate categorization and alignment with organizational needs.

    + Ensure accurate and timely preparation and filing of all tax obligations, including state, local, federal, and international filings in partnership with third-party providers.

    + Lead the development of financial models and budgets, supporting strategic planning and business decisions.

    + Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date documentation for all accounting procedures and records, in line with legal and compliance standards.

    + Support internal reporting and analysis, including budget vs. actual variance, inventory management, and operational forecasting.

    + Lead, manage, and develop the accounting team, fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture aligned with company values and goals.

    Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred)

    + Minimum of 3 years of experience in an accounting leadership role, preferably within a manufacturing or engineering environment

    + Deep knowledge of GAAP and regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions

    + Experience with ERP systems (experience with Global Shop is a plus)

    + Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills

    + Proven ability to manage and mentor a team, while driving continuous improvement

     

    Requirements • Must possess a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.

     

    • Experience in a manufacturing environment is required.

    • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

    • Proven experience in financial reporting and analysis.

    • Proficient in using financial software and databases.

    • Ability to develop and oversee internal controls.

    • Solid experience in budgeting and forecasting.

    • Excellent leadership and team management skills.

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

    • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

    • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

    • High attention to detail and accuracy.

    • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

    • Strong understanding of tax codes and regulations.

    • Proven track record in process improvement and operational efficiency.
