Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our client's team in Saint Paul, Minnesota. This long-term contract position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to essential accounting processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance in financial operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank statements, and maintaining general ledger accounts.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate transactions.

• Perform bank reconciliations to maintain consistency and accuracy in financial records.

• Manage and update general ledger accounts, ensuring alignment with organizational standards.

• Prepare and post journal entries for routine and adjusting transactions.

• Support the month-end close process by reconciling accounts and preparing financial statements.

• Ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements.

• Collaborate with other departments to address and resolve discrepancies in financial data.

• Assist in the preparation of reports and documentation for audits or internal reviews.

• Identify opportunities for process improvements in accounting workflows.

Requirements • A minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or a related field.

• Proficiency in managing accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR).

• Demonstrated ability to perform accurate bank reconciliations.

• Strong knowledge of general ledger maintenance and journal entry preparation.

• Experience supporting month-end close activities.

• Familiarity with accounting regulations and standard practices.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
