About the Role
The Director of Finance will oversee all financial aspects of the company, including strategic planning, compliance, financial reporting, and risk management. This leadership position requires a hands-on and results-driven professional capable of leading long-term financial strategies while enhancing operational efficiency. The role also includes acting as a trusted advisor to executive management and ownership.
Key Responsibilities
+ Develop, implement, and manage long-term financial strategies and forecasting models to support the company’s growth and sustainability.
+ Prepare and present financial reports (e.g., P& L statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements) to the executive team, providing essential insights for decision-making.
+ Establish and uphold strong financial controls, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax laws, and regulations.
+ Lead the annual budgeting process and provide actionable recommendations based on forecasting and performance data.
+ Build, lead, and develop a highly skilled finance team, fostering growth and collaboration across departments.
+ Monitor and manage cash flow, capital investments, and treasury operations to optimize liquidity and minimize risk exposure.
+ Identify and evaluate financial risks, offering strategic solutions to address compliance, insurance, and operational vulnerabilities.
+ Collaborate with internal departments and executive leadership to align financial objectives with organizational goals.
+ Provide strategic recommendations to the executive team and ownership on investments, acquisitions, estate planning, and other major financial matters.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for an experienced financial leader with a strategic mindset, technical expertise, and outstanding leadership skills. The ideal candidate will drive immediate impact and help build a foundation for long-term success.
Key qualifications include:
+ Master’s degree (MBA or related field) is required.
+ Undergraduate degree in business, finance, accounting, or a related discipline.
+ 10+ years of professional experience in finance, operations, or similar industries.
Requirements
Required Skills and Experience
+ Proven track record in financial leadership roles (preferably within distribution, operations, or related industries).
+ Strong competency in financial forecasting, planning, and budgeting.
+ Deep understanding of business processes and their impact on financial performance.
+ Success in leading teams, including mentoring professionals and ensuring effective talent management.
+ Mergers and acquisitions (M& A) experience is a plus.
+ Advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.) and experience with ERP and CRM systems.
+ Exceptional organizational, leadership, and decision-making skills.
+ Hands-on, proactive approach to solving problems and managing critical projects.
+ Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and presentation delivery.
