Description: Belcan is seeking a ServiceNow Platform Senior Engineer to be a trusted technical advisor for ServiceNow platform. A technical leader who documents the overall platform design, analyzes the impact of new requirements, and executes configuration, development, and integration of the ServiceNow environment. Maintains and sustains the overall hygiene of the ServiceNow environment.
Job Duties:
- Define, guide, and support the execution of our technical governance processes.
- Help develop and document standards and practices for maintaining the ServiceNow architecture model.
- Assist in developing standards and practices for maintaining the health of the ServiceNow platform.
- Support design and implementation of a platform operating model to achieve our desired outcomes and foster end-user adoption.
- Provide technical evaluation of demands against ServiceNow platform architecture, platform capabilities, and best practices.
- Responsible for platform integrations and upgrades.
- Guide ServiceNow Platform design, including considerations for integration and performance.
- Assess architecture and solution designs to support your objectives including alignment with ServiceNow implementation best practices.
- Offer guidance on prototyping and accelerating time from design to deployment.
- Provide technical guidance in platform development and platform- wide solutions.
- Advise on configuration and coding standards.
- Execute remediation of configurations not aligned to ServiceNow best practices.
- Assess instance health (performance, manageability, usability, scalability, upgradability, and security) by conducting ServiceNow Health Scan.
- Ensure platform alignment with the business strategy.
- Provide consultative technical leadership to the platform team.
- Create and maintain a detailed view of the existing architecture.
- Provide architectural controls to ensure the correct technical solutions are used when delivering business solutions.
- Resolve technical escalations, including responding to defects.
- Understand and follow all IT policies and procedures for change management.
- Work with other company architects as necessary.
- Assist in migrating configuration across instances and/or consolidating multiple instances.
- Execute the development, user acceptance testing, and deployment of ServiceNow changes, ranging from small catalog changes to complex workflows and integrations of external platforms.
- Collaboration with stakeholders including internal customers, stakeholders and vendors to understand challenges and gain consensus on improved system and operational solutions
- Proactive identification of data and functionality gaps in ServiceNow
- Participates in platform upgrade planning, testing, and validation.
- Writes and/or reviews system specifications, including output requirements, flow charts and technical diagrams.
Required Qualifications:
- BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent program from an accredited University/College (or
equivalent experience)
- At least 5 years of senior level ServiceNow administration experience.
- Demonstrated leadership of the design, documentation, and governance of ServiceNow architecture
and key modules - Incident Management, Problem Management, Configuration Management, Change
Management, Knowledge Management, Service Catalog/Service Portal, and SecOps
- Proven grasp and experience in JavaScript, Python, HTML, CSS, JSON, Web Services (SOAP/REST), web
application frameworks, and experience writing and consuming APIs
- Proficiency with Business Rules, Script Includes, UI Actions, Scheduled Jobs - all scripted aspects of the
ServiceNow system with
- Exposure to ServiceNow platform capabilities and tools like Discovery and Orchestration and other
applications like Service Watch, GRC, etc.
- Confirmed expertise with relational database schema design with extending the ServiceNow schema to
custom applications
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment

- Demonstrated success in requirement gathering/management from business stakeholders
- Experience with leading and documenting unit testing and user acceptance testing
- Demonstrated experience prioritizing and executing multiple priorities
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator/Developer/Implementor or related certifications
- Expertise with CMDB, Service Mapping, Software, and Hardware Asset Management
- Proven background in Architecture Design and Processes
- Experience with FedRamp environments
We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary range of $125,000 to $135,000. Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline.
