Jacobs Project Management Company is seeking a Construction Project Engineer Professional (Intermediate Level) to work in Arlington, VA and various unanticipated worksites in the US.

Responsibilities:

A Construction Project Engineer Professional Intermediate at Jacobs Project Management Company works on long-term project sites within the Federal and Environmental Division. Below are some examples of the types of projects employee may work on: Government Facilities: new construction, repairs, and alterations to Federal buildings. Historic Building Renovations & Alterations: these involve preserving and updating structures with historical significance. Infrastructure projects: new construction, and repairs to Transportation systems, Energy infrastructure, Disaster response and recovery. Jacobs also manages several different types of large-scale projects in other business divisions, like Buildings, Infrastructure and Advanced Facilities, so the employee can be transferred to other divisions to oversee different projects in the future.

The employee's responsibility in Providing Technical Engineering-Related Support to the Sr. Project Manager are: Conduct thorough cost analysis for materials, labor, and equipment to ensure accurate budgeting and forecasting using RSMeans, product data sheets, and understanding of construction means and methods. Identify opportunities for cost savings and budget optimization by leveraging experience in construction engineering, ultimately achieving client cost savings. Interpret architectural and engineering drawings to ensure they meet project specifications and verify the quality of materials and workmanship on site, ensuring all work meets the required high standards. Manage project contingencies and contract modifications using advanced excel. Draft integrated master project schedule to track and coordinate tenants’ vendor mobilizations and inspections. Provide field quality assurance support to Commissioning Project Managers to confirm full system functionality (MEP, Security and Fire protection) that meets project goals.

Providing technical support to the project manager and developing and maintaining project cost/change controls, and project budget and accounting records. Performing change order estimating and assisting project manager in change order negotiations. Reviewing weekly and monthly reports on the status and progress of the contracts, including project costs and potential changes. Guiding submittal process in the electronic project management system and monitor compliance with contract obligations such as management plan, quality control plan, cost loaded schedules, payment applications. Requiring schedule submittals and track progress, updates and review commendations on recovery plans and percentage complete for payment applications. Reviewing progress of the work against baseline schedules and initiating any necessary actions for recovery schedules or extension of contract period. Guiding RFI process in the electronic project management system and tracking and expediting responses. Tracking project closeout docs (as-builts). Assisting with the process of tracking potential change orders, RFP's, and contact modifications. Consolidating monthly reports and overseeing set up warranty response system. Maintain office records and establishing and maintaining filing system and project directory. Caring for the web-based electronic project management system database. Assisting and tracking worker registrations and security clearances log and linking progress photos to the web.

REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a master's degree or foreign equivalent in Civil Engineering or related field and 1 year of work experience in the job offered or related occupation. As an alternative, employer will accept a bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Civil Engineering or related field and 2 years of work experience in the job offered or related occupation.

SPECIFIC SKILLS: Expertise/ knowledge of: Bluebeam Revu. Electronic Project Management Tools, such as Prolog, Procore, or similar tools. Primavera P6. Open Space, Multivista, or similar photographic documentation tool. Government contracts. Scheduling, Cost Estimating, Project Controls.

Job duties are project-based and performed on long-term assignments at various unanticipated sites within the U.S. which may require relocation at the end of each project.
