Job Overview
The HR Generalist will assist the HR Manager in the administration and strategic support of HR processes, procedures, and systems. The HR Generalist will provide as back-up for the HR Manager supporting a 24/7 operation.
Job Responsibilities
+ Lead plant entry level and skilled hourly talent acquisition initiatives.
+ Responsible for managing mid-level employee relations issues including but not limited to counseling, coaching, and corrective actions.
+ Manage FMLA information including: forms, approval progress, return to work dates, time card updates, etc. and serve as first point of contact.
+ Responsible for benefit updates including communicating employer response and follow-up, system audits, etc.
+ Coordinate and facilitate a variety of employee meetings and engagement events.
+ Assist with worker’s compensation investigations and collecting data.
+ Assist HR Manager with facilitating new hire orientations.
+ Responsible for New Hire Appraisal Monitoring including reviews and points.
+ All GLC employees are expected to perform any assignment or job task according to the stated safety policies and procedures.
+ All GLC employees are expected to produce our products in a manner that exceeds the quality and value expectation of our customers and consumers by adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices, Policies and Procedures outlined in our Safe Quality Food Program.
+ Other responsibilities as assigned by the manager.
Required Education and Experience
+ Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.
+ Minimum of 2 years HR experience.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office.
+ Must be legally authorized to work for a company in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Preferred Education and Experience
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or a related field.
+ 3 or more years of HR Generalist experience in a manufacturing environment.
+ Experience in hourly talent acquisition processes and strategy.
+ HRIS experience (preferably SAP SuccessFactors, Kronos).
+ Familiar with HR policies and procedures (employment law, FMLA, etc.)
+ Ability to make sound, independent decisions based on management expertise and experience.
+ Ability to handle multiple tasks, troubleshoot and problem solve.
Working Conditions
• Occasional exposure to industrial operations including: temperature extremes from approximately 35ºF to 100ºF; noise levels in excess of 85 dB; moisture and moving machinery.
• Work is performed in an office setting.
