    The Panaretakis Lab is seeking Postdoctoral fellow candidate to join the effort to develop biomarkers, identify mechanisms, and test unique hypotheses in a rich prostate cancer clinical resource.

     

    A postdoctoral position focused on establishing a platform that will enable clinical, basic, and translational discovery across biologic domains and disciplines of research.

     

    Successful candidates must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to approach complex biological questions with a biological and clinical mindset; Basic knowledge in cancer biology, vascular biology, cardiovascular physiology, or cardio-oncology research. Interest in prostate cancer, disease progression and metastasis and therapy-induced pathological changes. Prior experience with human subject research. Basic skills in statistical analysis and use of data visualization tools. Good scientific writing skills and experience in manuscript preparation. Strong organizational skills, ability to perform well under pressure and multitask across multiple collaborative projects. Demonstrated capacity for independent thinking and problem-solving in a research setting. Experience working in interdisciplinary teams and communicating scientific findings to diverse audiences.

     

    *LEARNING OBJECTIVES*

    • Gain experience in developing and implementing tools for monitoring vascular pathology in circulation.

    • Develop skills in pathway analysis and systems biology approaches to understand complex biological systems.

    • Develop skills in data integration and multi-omics analysis.

    • Build knowledge in personalized medicine and precision health.

    • Gain experience in collaborating with experimental biologists to design and execute bioinformatics analyses that address biological questions.

    • Develop proficiency in scientific writing and communication, including publishing in peer-reviewed journals and presenting research at conferences.

    *ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS*

     

    MD or PHD (Recent graduate - within 3 years)

     

    Prefer a candidate with an understanding of cancer biology, interest in prostate cancer and in particular disease progression to the bone, ability to collaborate with experimental biologists to design and execute analyses that address biological questions, and a background in biomarkers.
