    A postdoctoral position is available to study novel therapeutic targets and molecular mechanisms associated with therapeutic resistance in small cell lung cancer (SCLC) in the laboratory of Lauren Averett Byers, M.D. at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. The lab is largely interested in using high-throughput proteomic screening to discover and validate potential drug targets and biomarkers of therapeutic resistance in SCLC.

    JOB KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

    1. Enthusiastic, highly self-motivated candidate, with the ability to function independently and as part of an interactive team.

    2. A strong background in molecular biology, cellular therapy, and/or immunology/immunotherapy

    3. Experience in cellular therapies and/or antibody-drug-conjugates is preferred.

    4. Experience in flow cytometry is preferred.

    5. Dedication to basic research, a true "drive", is important.

    6. Prior experience with studies involving mice is preferred.

    7. Excellent command of written and spoken English language

    8. Prior publication record

    The trainee will learn how to design and execute quantitative experiments in a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment, with the highest standard of ethical, responsible, and rigorous scientific research. The trainee will participate in professional development activities and in collaborative projects and present findings at a prestigious national/international conference, to prepare for the chosen career.

     

    *ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS*

     

    Applications are invited from qualified individuals, interested in working in a translational research lab, with a Ph.D. and/or M.D. Preferred candidate should have less than 2 years of prior postdoctoral experience with background in cancer biology, biochemistry, cell biology, or molecular biology and be highly motivated to pursue a career in laboratory based biomedical research.
