Position Summary and Purpose: Responsible for leadership of manufacturing associates in a manufacturing and assembly environment. The Production Supervisor is responsible for achieving production requirements through the efficient use of human, capital, and material resources. The Production Supervisor also ensures all company policies and procedures are adhered to, conducts performance evaluations, and coaches employees for improved performance, career growth and fosters an environment of continuous improvement by implementing Operational Excellence and Lean Methodology. Duties and Responsibilities:

     

    + Ensure positive employee relations; provide employee coaching for career development; make employment decisions; resolve employee issues through the use of the appropriate leadership skills.

    + Balance safety, quality, productivity, cost, and morale to achieve positive results, and work to continuously improve in all areas

    + Manage departmental performance measures, including visual controls and update the Value Stream daily

    + Ensure the development and training of staff that meets defined performance standards

    + Maintain compliance to company safety policies and procedures

    + Responsible for directing the work of other team members

    Education and Experience:

    + Associate Degree in a technical discipline and 3-5 years of experience in a production environment; or a Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline

    + Certification or Experience in implementing Lean Practices

     

    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Characteristics, etc.

     

    + Strong leadership qualities

    + Knowledge and experience in organizational effectiveness and operations management

    + Highly motivated, very detailed and service oriented with a proven track record

    + A strong desire for personal growth and learning

    + Effective communicator with positive attitude

    + Superior critical thinking skills

    + Strong mechanical or electrical background

    + Mechanical Assembly experience or extensive relevant industry experience

    + Electrical Assembly / Electronics experience or extensive relevant industry experience

     

    Physical Demands and Work Environment: The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Physical demands: This position is very active and requires frequent standing, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing of ladders. Must be able to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. frequently. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Work environment: While performing the duties of this job the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibration and/or a variety of extreme conditions. The noise level in the work environment can be loud occasionally.
